Fenton adopts two local laws to update zoning references and add engineering‑fee reimbursement

At its April 1 meeting the Town Board of Fenton adopted two local laws that amend the town code and fee schedule.
Local Law No. 2 of 2026 amends Section 150 of the Town Code to add the definition or reference to “Principal Building,” updates cross‑references in Sections 150‑14 and 150‑16, amends subsection language in Section 150‑13A and adds a new subparagraph, and updates the fee schedule to add an Aquifer Protection Permit fee and change references from 'Mobile Home Parks' to 'Manufactured Home Parks.'
Local Law No. 3 of 2026 amends Section 150‑49 to add legal provisions to reimburse applicants for engineering fees incurred during the building permit, special use permit, and/or license processes, and adds the corresponding fee to the town fee schedule.
The board held public hearings for both proposed laws (no public comments were offered). The Town completed Part 1 of the Short Environmental Assessment Form and — treating the changes as a Type II action — declared a Negative Declaration, finding no significant adverse environmental impacts. Councilman Thomas Moss moved to approve both local laws; the motion was seconded by Councilman Richard Pray and carried on a roll‑call vote (Cook aye, Husar absent, Moss aye, Pray aye, Gunster aye).
