Council told URC ordinance will be ready for May meeting; PLUC to hold WUI and General Plan hearings

At the April 15 meeting, Buck reported that the Planning & Land Use Commission plans a public hearing in May on WUI amendments to sections 85-3 and 95-6 and that the council should receive those amendments in June. Buck said the PLUC also hopes to hold a public hearing on the town General Plan in June.
CM Gibson told the council that the Utah Renewable Communities (URC) ordinance needs to be adopted by the town by June 2. Gibson said the ordinance is undergoing legal review by Simonson and is expected to be ready for the council’s May meeting. Gibson also said a separate public hearing is not required for the URC ordinance and noted the program has been discussed at monthly public meetings for five years.
Council members did not take a formal vote on the URC ordinance at the April meeting; legal review and the May agenda will determine whether the ordinance returns to the council for final action.
