Superintendent Johnson used the recognitions portion of the meeting to mark Hmong Heritage Month and to recognize School Library Month.
Johnson said the district's Hmong Club will host the fifth annual Hmong Heritage event on Friday, 04/24/2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at North High School with performances, food, activities and a raffle; doors open at 4:30 p.m. and admission is free. Johnson noted the event is open to the public.
Johnson also praised school librarians during School Library Month, stating that librarians foster information literacy, inclusive collections and programs that support student achievement and well-being; certificates for librarians and accompanying photos were to be presented later in the meeting.
