Shoemaker) and a retroactive medical leave; a funded Casework Supervisor-MH/ID requisition (p.c. #56105); Transportation promotion and backfill for Vehicle Operator positions; two probation staffing requisitions; a funded Paralegal/Victim-Witness Assistant position for the District Attorney (p.c. #22127); several Sheriff Office job-description and staffing actions; renewal of the District Attorney’s professional liability insurance with the National District Attorney’s Association for $35,656 (June 6, 2026–June 5, 2027); and renewal of a Farmer’s Market Voucher Program contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to distribute 1,330 packets (5 vouchers per packet; 6,650 vouchers total) to eligible Centre County adults aged 60 and older (no county cost; reimbursement up to $1,250 possible).
A proposed contract with American Top Team Happy Valley Pennsylvania for defense tactics training, not to exceed $19,000 and described in the agenda as fully grant-funded, was discussed and tabled after Sheriff Bryan Sampsel noted county staff already use two qualified trainers; the Board voted unanimously to table that contract while staff gather more information about which departments would use the vendor.
Most votes were recorded as motions by Commissioner Amber Concepcion, seconded by Commissioner Steven Dershem, and recorded as unanimous.
