Engineering report highlights lead service line inventory and pedestrian safety projects

City Engineer Justin Messner, working with WSB Consulting, presented the Engineering Annual Report on March 10, covering 2025 accomplishments, coordination on roadway projects, and the city’s water service line inventory.
Assistant City Engineer/Project Manager Katie Koscielak summarized pedestrian safety improvements, Central Park enhancements, mill-and-overlay projects and street reconstruction work. Messner explained that the service-line inventory covers the full run from the home to the street and that grant assistance is available to replace private-side materials when eligible.
Messner also noted that more than 700 homeowners did not respond to an earlier survey; he said the city plans another round of outreach tied to future grant opportunities.
