At the April 14 Pearland Independent School District board meeting, trustees recognized student and teacher accomplishments across arts, agricultural, literacy and leadership programs.
Fine Arts Coordinator Victor Regoza described student successes at the Fort Worth, Austin and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo events, listing multiple auction lots and reporting total student sales of $543,000. Mandy Saravarkas, the district's CTE coordinator, highlighted high placements for FFA students at major Texas livestock shows. Rachel Welsh, a librarian at Sablatura Middle School, recognized Elliot Walker as Pearland's District 8 representative for the Texas Bluebonnet Award program.
The board also recognized teachers who achieved National Board Certification and introduced graduates of the Pearland ISD Aspiring Administrators program, with nominees from several campuses. The recognitions concluded with thanks to teachers, administrators and families.
