Pleasant Hill council approves summer events, Farmer’s Market and Springtime Hill Climb

The Pleasant Hill City Council on March 10 approved a slate of special-event applications for 2026, including a weekly Farmer’s Market, several Chamber of Commerce events and the city-sponsored Springtime Hill Climb 5K.
Parks and Recreation Manager Ryan Merritt said Berean Church will host the Farmer’s Market on Mondays, June 1 through Aug. 31 from 4–7 p.m. in the church parking lot; staff noted the market is expected to include more than 40 vendors. Merritt said the market "brings urban and rural communities together, supporting local vendors from across the metro." The council approved the Farmer’s Market application by unanimous vote.
Council also approved the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 event season, including Chill on the Hill (Fridays May 29–June 26, 6–9 p.m., 21+ area at Copper Creek Lake Park), Summer Fest (July 24–25, including fireworks and a parade) and Trick-or-Treat Around the Lake (Oct. 22). Merritt said all event applications had been reviewed and recommended by the necessary departments.
The council approved the 14th annual Springtime Hill Climb 5K, organized by the Parks and Recreation Department and True Time Racing; the run will start at 8:30 a.m. April 11 at Doanes Park on the same route as previous years. Resident Stacey Carpenter asked to be notified about any Shadyview road-closure information. All event approvals passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
