Standing Park subdivision moves forward in technical review after public comments

At the April 9 hearing the Hooper Planning Commission heard an update on the Standing Park subdivision, a proposed one‑acre‑lot development at 4965 South 6300 West. Planning staff said the application is in its second review and that it meets R‑1 standards with only minor technical issues pending.
Applicant David Webster said he purchased the property about a year ago and plans to develop residences for his family; he told commissioners he is addressing a few minor technical items raised in staff review. Neighbor Brian Hochkis, who lives adjacent to the proposed subdivision, spoke in favor of the plan and urged the commission to avoid unnecessary sidewalks where they serve little purpose.
The commission opened a public hearing, received comments, closed the hearing and returned the item to staff review in the technical‑review committee (TRC) process. Commissioners thanked the applicant for responsiveness and noted the application appears to be moving toward approval pending resolution of outstanding engineering and boundary questions.
