Bolivar Intermediate spotlights PLC work as district highlights student achievement and activities

Principal Jason Nash and assistant principal Jennifer Miller presented the CSIP spotlight for Bolivar Intermediate, describing how teacher collaboration (PLCs) and curriculum management tools are used to track student progress. The presenters said PLCs focus on priority standards, use weekly checks and data conversations to move students from below to proficient, and set an 80% proficiency goal for priority standards. The presentation included examples of grade-level gains cited by staff during PLC checks.
Superintendent and staff cited an average daily attendance figure of 93.62% for the district, described a plan to use visible attendance scoreboards as part of an attendance initiative, and noted that PLCs allow teachers to plan and adjust instruction together.
Athletic and activities director Colt Blair reported roughly 385 students participating in mission (extracurricular) activities—about half the student body—highlighted team GPA figures and individual honors in swimming, wrestling, speech and debate, and other spring activities. Blair emphasized the role extracurriculars play in student engagement, attendance and academic performance.
The board thanked presenters and recognized staff members who received employee and teacher of the year honors across district buildings. The updates were presented as part of ongoing CSIP work and previewed a professional development day on April 6 and the district-wide staff recognition event.
