Board unanimously approves routine agenda items including travel, contracts and course books

The Blue Ridge Unified School District board approved a series of routine items Tuesday by voice vote or roll‑call, with all motions passing unanimously.
The consent agenda (Items 2.1–2.4) was approved after a brief discussion about fundraising and teacher departures. The board voted to approve out‑of‑state travel for FBLA (two students qualified to attend nationals in San Antonio, June 26–July 2), for a theater professional development trip to New York City, and for the varsity girls soccer team to attend a Las Vegas tournament. FBLA advisor Bridal said fundraising and a $1,000 per‑competitor contribution will cover costs for the two students attending nationals.
Other approvals included addenda for principal, assistant principal and counselor contracts for 2026–27; the intergovernmental agreement supporting CTED/CTE courses (Navit/NABIT); the Junior Leadership Academy (GLA) program run in partnership with Nexus Coalition; and junior‑high and high‑school course content books with a requested correction to clarify student council eligibility for seventh and eighth grade.
All votes on those items were recorded as unanimous in the meeting minutes. The board noted the audit acceptance required a roll‑call vote, which passed unanimously as well.
The board adjourned after public comment and announced a public bond and override study session for May 23 at 5:00 p.m. and its next regular meeting on May 12 at 5:00 p.m.
