The Village of New Hyde Park will hold a Tax Lien Sale on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the Village Court Room, Clerk-Treasurer Rebecca Sheehan told the board on Feb. 19.
Sheehan said property owners must pay outstanding taxes by Thursday, March 5 at 12 p.m. by certified check or cash to remove their property from the Tax Lien Sale list, which will begin to be published March 12. The clerk reported the current fiscal-year (2025–26) delinquent total is $57,217.16, consisting of 31 delinquent parcels, and that outstanding taxes for all years going back to 2004 total $243,639.88 including penalties and interest. She said the village collected $235,128.04 on delinquent properties between August 2025 and Feb. 19, 2026 (previously $478,767.92 as of August 2025).
Sheehan also noted that the final tax grievance day was Feb. 17 and directed residents to contact Village Hall for payment procedures. The village will publish delinquent-parcel notices on March 12, 19 and 26 before the sale on April 1.
