The Annandale Public School District board on March 3 approved a series of routine and administrative actions, including the inclusion of Wright Technical Center’s proportionate long-term facilities maintenance projects in the district application, acceptance of donations, recognition of student state and national qualifiers, approval of four policies in the review cycle, and termination of four probationary teacher contracts.
Chair (speaker 1) presented each resolution and called for motions. The Wright Technical Center resolution was moved and seconded and approved by roll-call vote; district staff explained the amounts are split based on enrollment and usage because Wright Tech cannot levy directly. The board also approved a resolution accepting donations and moved to send congratulations letters to a list of student qualifiers across athletics and activities.
On personnel, the board considered a resolution to terminate the contracts of four probationary teachers and voted to approve all four terminations at once in a roll-call vote. Board members then approved four policies in the review cycle: staff recognition program (4-99, no changes), school weapons policy (501, changes highlighted), search of student lockers/desks (502, no changes), and student attendance policy (503, changes highlighted). All motions recorded during these items carried.
