Willow Park council approves developer extension, updates signatories and amends city attorney reporting; executive session yields lease and boundary directives

At its Oct. 28 meeting, the Willow Park City Council handled several business items and executive-session directives.

Chapter 380 agreement: Council approved a revised Chapter 380 economic development agreement extending developer obligations by 12 months between the City of Willow Park and the developer identified in the packet as "Pledo's Westland Willow Park LLC." Staff said the extension responds to unforeseen construction expenses; the motion to approve passed by voice vote.

Bank signatories: Council approved Resolution 2025-16 to update authorized signatories on city bank accounts, removing former officials and adding current staff and elected officials named in the packet. The motion passed by voice vote.

City attorney reporting: An ordinance amendment to change the city attorney to an officer of the city who reports to city council was presented as housekeeping and approved by voice vote.

Executive-session outcomes: After meeting in executive session under Texas Government Code chapter 551, council authorized the city attorney to provide notice to terminate a lease and, if necessary, to file an eviction notice against Ohana DFW Learn Number Two LLC. Council also authorized the mayor, mayor pro tem, interim city manager and city attorney to negotiate a boundary agreement with the Cities of Fort Worth and Al o as described in the packet. Council recorded the motions and approved them by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the public minutes.

The council also set its November meeting for Monday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. and tabled several governance items until the mayor is present.
