At its March 3 meeting the Peru Board of Public Works announced winners of multiple demolition bids submitted through the City Building Department and approved awarding those bids.
Board members read a list of winning bidders for several lots primarily in Woodburn Green (Mornin' Trailer Park) and Rushburn Green areas. Hershberger Excavating was announced as the winning bidder on multiple lots with bids such as $2,790 and $2,450; Baker Excavating won certain lots at $2,850. The board noted some properties would not be awarded today because additional information had been received and those items were tabled for further review.
A motion was made to award the bids as announced; it was seconded and passed unanimously. Separately, the board moved and passed a motion to table awards for specific addresses and lot numbers including 13–17 West 2nd Street and several Woodburn Green/Mornin' Trailer Park lots pending follow-up.
No public speakers objected during the award process. Board members said the tabling was due to new or clarifying information about particular properties.
