Wayne approves $9,800 Olsen agreement for Prairie Park pavilion conceptual design

The Wayne City Council adopted Resolution 2026-34 approving a letter agreement with Olsen for professional services to provide conceptual site and landscape design for a pavilion and amphitheater area at Wayne Prairie Park.
Taylor, an Olsen representative who identified project responsibilities, said the scope covers conceptual design (not engineered plans): kickoff, two conceptual site options, a refinement meeting, and an opinion of cost intended to support grant applications. Taylor said the team expects to deliver a conceptual design in about 60 days and to produce 3D renderings and site connectivity ideas linking the pavilion to nearby trails.
Council members noted that the deliverable will help the city pursue grant funding and that further engineering decisions will follow after the conceptual design and cost estimate are available. The council approved the $9,800 agreement by roll call.
Staff said the conceptual package will enable the city to apply for funding and give the council and stakeholders material to review before committing to construction-phase engineering.
