The North Fayette Township Board of Supervisors on Feb. 17 adopted approvals for a proposed agricultural and catering/event center at the Scott Family Farm and granted conditional use for Hawthicket Properties, LLC to operate a catering/event venue on the property.
Community Planner Jonathan Brodak summarized the application packet and municipal review letters, and the Planning Commission recommended approval at its Feb. 5 meeting. Amanda White, representing the applicant, described the project as an effort to create “a warm and inviting space to the community,” locating a barn on approximately 100 acres used for crops and programming for weddings, kids' camps, community events, fairs and farmers markets.
Gateway Engineers' Alberto Jarquin explained the parcel has limited collector‑street frontage and requested a modification to retain the existing driveway rather than require new collector-street access. Public Works Director Pat Felton said he believed Old North Branch Road could handle the traffic; a resident, Colleen Morris, asked about anticipated attendance and White estimated an average of about 50 people, with a maximum of up to 200 for some events.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 33‑26 granting preliminary approval of the Scott Farm land development plan and Resolution No. 34‑26 granting conditional use approval for the catering/event venue. Roll call votes were unanimous in favor (Doddato, O'Donnell, Valent).
The approvals clear the municipal review stage and allow the applicant to advance toward final engineering and permitting; the transcript does not specify event permits, operating hours, or final traffic‑management conditions, which typically are addressed in subsequent site plan conditions.
