The chief said Hopkins’s interviewing skills and case work led to his appointment as detective and that the promotion to sergeant was "well deserved."
Hopkins repeated the oath of office as administered by the mayor.
What happens next: Sergeant Hopkins will assume supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the chief.
