Carpentersville issues proclamations for Motorcycle Awareness Month, National Police Week and World Falun Dafa Day

The Village of Carpentersville issued three proclamations on May 7 recognizing motorcycle safety, law enforcement and Falun Dafa.
President Skilman read a proclamation declaring May 2026 Motorcycle Awareness Month, citing ABATE of Illinois’s outreach and education programs and urging all roadway users to share roads safely. The board also proclaimed May 11–16 National Police Week to honor local law‑enforcement personnel.
Separately, President Skilman read a proclamation recognizing May 13 as World Falun Dafa Day, describing Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) as a practice centered on truthfulness, compassion and forbearance. Representatives from ABATE attended and received a certificate of recognition during the meeting.
