Freehold Regional High School District honors dozens of students and coaches at recognition ceremony

The Freehold Regional High School District on July 7, 2025 held a student recognition ceremony in which administrators and board members honored dozens of students for athletics, academic competitions and extracurricular achievements.
“Relationships, engagement and growth,” Superintendent Dr. Hazel said as she opened the program, framing the evening as a celebration of student accomplishment across the district. Schools represented included Colts Neck, Freehold Township, Marbor, Manal and others.
Colts Neck High School’s NJROTC team, introduced by a district presenter, was recognized as national champions in their competition; Jason Bennett was singled out after bowling a perfect 300 and the girls basketball team was honored as Central Group Three sectional champions with a 23–7 record. The Colts Neck presentation also included academic honors and several Allshore music selections.
Freehold Township High School and Marbor High School presented recipients of district medals, Girl Scout Gold and FCCLA and DECA state and national distinctions. At Manal High School, the district acknowledged finalists in a space-settlement design competition and multiple athletic state qualifiers. The ceremony included a tribute to retiring wrestling coach Brent Jenkos for 14 years of service.
Students were also recognized for selection to All-State and Allshore ensembles, success in Model United Nations and leadership awards. Grace Fine was presented as the district’s Governor’s School representative in the sciences, a competitive residential STEM program.
The program closed with superintendent remarks thanking teachers, coaches and families, and the board resumed its formal meeting agenda afterward.
