Marie Archer told the board she and her family have repeatedly had mail and delivery problems and that the school district currently lists their children under a different address. Staff explained the property's address history: when the owners bought the home in 2018 the official address was changed to 10004 Tyson Drive because the driveway and mailbox face Tyson. Township staff said addressing changes are routed to Chester County Emergency Services and the U.S. Postal Service, and those databases feed mapping services the county and schools use.
Board members and staff discussed options to avoid long propagation delays through mapping and postal databases. Supervisors noted that a formal street rename would require a resolution, new signage and time for changes to appear in third-party mapping systems. Several supervisors suggested quicker, targeted fixes: adding directional signage at the top of the T-intersection toward the homeowner's driveway and placing a visible Tyson label on the mailbox. The board agreed to try enhanced wayfinding signage and recommended the homeowner update mailbox signage; they deferred any formal renaming resolution for now.
