Hoosick board approves summer recreation pay scale, several appointments and a park-fence contract

The Hoosick Town Board adopted several administrative measures during its June meeting, including personnel approvals for recreation staff, two board appointments and a small capital contract for park safety.
Resolution 58: Summer recreation pay and staff appointments Ashley presented the proposed pay scale and a list of returning and new summer recreation employees, including lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors (WSIs). The board moved, seconded and approved Resolution 58 on a roll-call vote; Supervisor Sheffer, Deputy Supervisor Hanselman, Council person Hton, Council person McAuliff and Council person Bettis each voted yes.
Appointments and personnel resolutions The board accepted the resignation of a planning-board member and appointed Justin Gaines to the planning board through Dec. 31, 2030 (Resolution 55). It also approved Britney Quinn to the Board of Assessment Review through Oct. 31, 2030 (Resolution 56). A personnel-related resolution (Resolution 57) formalizing court coverage and related paperwork was also approved. All votes were recorded by roll call with the members present voting yes.
Park safety contract The board approved Resolution 59, awarding a $9,800 contract to False Fence Landscape to remove an unsafe section of the old castle wall and install a new fence to separate the playground from an adjacent path. Jackie moved the motion; it was seconded and approved by roll call with all members present voting yes.
Camp and pool logistics Separately, staff detailed operational items tied to the recreation approvals: Lifeguard training is scheduled June 12–14 at the town pool; staff orientation for camp and pool paperwork is June 19. Ashley said the Department of Health has been notified and that required training and background checks (including sex-offender checks) are in process; she will submit the permit paperwork after staff approvals.
The meeting moved on to other business after the votes. No contested votes or recorded dissent were reported in the meeting minutes.
