Committee members discussed a long‑standing agenda item about the Boy Scouts’ potential takeover of a town building. Staff reported that KCI is unwilling to take the building and the American Legion is being explored as a sponsor for a takeover or a long‑term lease.
Committee members said the item has been on their agenda for a long time and suggested the finance committee should report back to the full council with an update so the council can decide whether to retain referral of the matter or take the building back under council control. "Our job is to do what we were told… report back to them about what's going on if nothing's moving," one member said.
The committee agreed the item will remain on the finance committee agenda unless the full council directs otherwise.
