Seaford City Council on May 26 approved two appointments to the police chief's advisory board and reauthorized annual records officers for fiscal year 2027.
The chief had recommended Gene Odarius and Tashan Hughes, both residents. Tashan Hughes spoke briefly, saying he recently moved back to Seaford and is "honored to be a part of the Chiefs Council." The motion to appoint both candidates carried unanimously after a brief introduction from staff and a second by Councilman Alan Quillin.
Council also approved the annual designation of records officers and authorized agents (names unchanged in the packet). Vice Mayor Dan Henderson moved that the designations remain in effect until altered; the motion passed on unanimous voice vote.
What happens next: appointees will serve on the police chief's advisory board according to the board's procedures; staff will file records officer designations with the Delaware public archives as routine annual business.
