The council heard an IT update explaining recent changes to the town website platform and the cause of residents' inability to receive automated meeting notifications.
Brad Derzack, the town irector of IT, said the town migrated from CivicPlus to Revize as a cost-saving step during the FY26 budget process, which separated previously bundled services. "As a part of that recommendation... we transitioned from CivicPlus to Revize," he said, adding that some features—most notably the previous text-alert and SeeClickFix citizen-request functionality bundled with the old vendor—were not automatically available in the new hosting package.
IT has been working with the town manager to implement a replacement citizen-request portal (a Revize-native function) and to evaluate notification solutions that integrate with social media and calendar tools; Derzack said the portal and request-tracking capability should be ready "within the next two weeks." The department also plans short-term backup AV steps for council chambers and summer upgrades to displays and aging audio mixers.
Councilors pressed for a clear user-facing guidance page and step-by-step help for residents learning the new site. Derzack said staff can create a how-to page and demo videos for residents and will work with the vendor to improve searchability and document linkability.
What happens next: The town aims to relaunch a citizen-request portal and restore meaningful subscription/alert functions in the coming weeks; IT will publish instructions and may post a short screen-capture guide on the town YouTube channel.
