Haskell County commissioners approve personnel designations, Unpaved Roads grant agreement and accept grader bid

Haskell County Commissioners handled several routine but consequential items during their meeting, approving staff designations, authorizing a grant agreement and accepting a bid for road equipment.

The board approved Resolution 312636 to list requisitioning (purchasing) and receiving officers for specified general fund accounts. The personnel designations named Liz Beardsley and Shane Netherlane as requisitioning officers and Madison Price and Judy Dixon as receiving officers; the board moved and voted to approve the four appointees.

Commissioners also approved Resolution 312640, authorizing entry into an agreement with the Oklahoma Conservation Commission Land Management Division for an Unpaved Roads Grant. The chair said the grant application targets work north of town toward Sanboy and that the county’s part would be provided as in‑kind donations; if approved, the Commission would match the county’s contribution.

On equipment procurement, the board opened sealed Bid No. 05‑2026 for a District 3 grader. Two bids were discussed — one from a John Deere dealer and one identified in the record as Yellow House — with differences in model year, hours and warranty. Commissioners debated machine hours and warranty coverage, and then moved to accept a bid. Commissioners noted on the record that they did not select the cheapest bid and cited warranty/condition as factors in their decision; the minutes record the winning vendor and price.
