Rock Island Public Library announces 28th annual Freeze Lectures series on death and mortality

The Rock Island Public Library's long-running Freeze Lectures series will run from Oct. 23 through Nov. 13, with presentations beginning at 2 p.m., the Clerk announced as part of the agenda update.
Organizers described this year's series as the 28th and said it will consider subjects related to death, dying and mortality through lenses such as psychology, art, poetry and anthropology. The lectures are free and open to the public.
The Clerk said the first lecture, scheduled for Oct. 23, is titled "Death and the Psychologist" and will be presented by Dr. Jane Rose, professor emerita of psychology. No registration or additional program logistics were provided in the announcement.
