The Millinocket School Board on July 15 approved routine financial warrants, authorized two classroom hires and approved several personnel and job-description items.
The board voted to approve the minutes of its June 3 meeting and authorized payment of multiple payroll and accounts-payable warrants covering pay periods in June and July 2025. Individual warrant identifiers and dollar amounts were read into the record by the chair; board members voted to approve the warrants.
The board approved the superintendent's nominations to hire Ashley Doyle as a fourth-grade teacher at step 0 with a bachelor's salary reported in the meeting and Brad Henry as a high-school science teacher at step 9 (master's), $53,250. Members who interviewed Henry described improvements in the new science lab and said he was recommended by interviewers.
The board also approved a list of summer-employment appointments and hourly rates for food-service and summer-school positions, posted a Dean of Students / student support coordinator position for 2025–2026 with a $2,500 stipend (to be posted in-house), and approved a revised edtech/library job description that removes duties the staff said are not actually performed (for example, opening and closing the library each day).
All motions recorded in the meeting were moved, seconded and carried; no roll-call tallies were provided in the transcript. The meeting adjourned with the next regular session scheduled for Aug. 12, 2025.
