She explained the current trail ends abruptly in places and that the grant will fund construction to complete key trail links, widen sidewalks to 10 feet for continuity, and connect to the wetland park and the cross-town trail. The grant includes a completion deadline of September 2028.
Council members asked about location and status; Miss Young confirmed the project area is near 2700 South on Parkway Boulevard west, adjacent to the park shop. The resolution to accept the grant was placed on the consent agenda for the regular meeting.
