The Finance & Administration Committee voted to forward a $16,910 change request to the full city council that will add Badger Beacon meter integration to the city's ERP implementation and convert two additional years of legacy data.
Sandy said the change request covers the integration work needed because the city's new public-works meter system was not in the original scope: "there's an additional fee... to implement that new meter system and that Badger Beacon integration with utility billing," she said, and added the extra two years of data conversion aligns with the city's seven-year record-retention goal.
Staff noted funds are available and that portions of the cost will be allocated to the public works department and the general fund. Committee members asked whether the added years of conversion covered all financial modules and how the integration would connect meter monitoring with finance; staff explained the integration connects public-works meter data into the finance software.
The motion to forward the change request to city council passed on a roll-call vote.
