Finance committee advances $78,873 CityWorks and GIS support contract to council

The Finance & Administration Committee on a unanimous roll call vote advanced a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a $78,873 professional-services contract with "Timman's group" to support the city's CityWorks asset management platform and GIS services.
Sandy, a city staff presenter, told the committee the work is budgeted and will be reallocated from existing funds: "the money is in the budget. It's just going to be reallocated from various funds. Um, so it is in the amount of 78,873." The contract will cover user-interface work, report conversions and training tied to the vendor's most recent product update.
Dan Gentry, the city's IT director, described the longstanding relationship with CityWorks: "we've actually been a CityWorks customer since 2003," he said, adding that the current vendor has issued a major user-interface change that requires rewriting several hundred reports and hands-on setup and training.
Committee members asked whether the CityWorks work ties to county parcel and roads data; staff said parcel and roads layers often reference county-hosted data and that the CityWorks/GIS work supplements rather than replaces county systems.
The committee recorded roll-call approvals and agreed to forward the matter to the full city council for final action.
