The Silver Spring Township Board of Supervisors on June 26 accepted a $13,740 loss-control dividend from the Keystone Municipal Insurance Program, swore in Police Officer Andrew Smith and approved several routine consent-agenda items including expense reports and treasurer statements.
Jerry Schnell of Cumberland Valley Insurance presented the dividend and thanked township staff for loss-control efforts. The board approved purchases for six U.S. military medallion plaques for the Veterans Memorial (cost not to exceed $2,600) and appointed Matthew Wevodau to the Veterans Committee through January 6, 2025.
Township Engineer Aaron Moyer reported all documentation for Paul Walters Park had been received and announced a groundbreaking ceremony for July 17 at 11:00 a.m. Staff also reported on collector-road safety reviews to be coordinated with PennDOT and county partners; updates will return to the board at its July meeting.
The consent agenda—covering minutes, expense approvals and improvement-guarantee releases—was approved as presented. Several administrative agreements and grant-application authorizations were also ratified or advanced for solicitor review.
