St. Helens SD honors three community impact award recipients; ASB previews spring events

The St. Helens School District recognized three recipients of the Community Impact Awards and heard a student ASB presentation on spring activities.
Board presenters described student awardee Jada from the St. Helens Virtual Academy as an accelerated student headed for early graduation and interested in a nursing career. A long‑serving district employee, Paul, was honored for 20 years of service including 13 years in facilities and substantial volunteer coaching involvement. Jamie Smith received the community member award for sustained booster club leadership, PTO service and advocacy for vulnerable children; the board highlighted her role as vice president of the district boosters and organizer of the April 25 booster auction.
Casey Warner, ASB public relations at St. Helens High School, briefed the board on recent and upcoming student events: winter formal, NHS fundraisers (penny wars, dodgeball and other activities), class officer campaigns, prom scheduled for April 25 at the Venetian, and deadlines including senior‑slideshow and honors application deadlines on March 20 and senior photos on April 14. Warner said class officer applications are open and students should check email or ParentSquare for details.
Board members thanked volunteers and coaches for recent athletic successes, noted state tournament results for wrestling and other sports, and encouraged continued community engagement and support for student activities.
