Polk County approves opioid settlement contracts totaling $238,000 and multiple equipment purchases

Public Health Director Sarah Reese presented opioid settlement allocations approved as follows: Tri-County Community Corrections — $96,000; Alluma, Inc. — $80,000; New Heights Elementary School — $10,000; Fosston High School — $2,000; and Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. — $50,000, for a total of $238,000. Each contract was approved by motion and adopted unanimously.
Management Information Systems Director Levi Webster sought approval to purchase replacement firewalls. The board approved an SHI quote for $27,852. Webster also reported that increased memory needs raised server and storage costs; the County Administrator approved the increase and the Board agreed that MIS proceed at the new cost (the revised total was not specified in the minutes).
Facilities Director Richard Langlois requested purchase of a Haulotte 5533 towable manlift; the board approved acquiring it from ACME Equipment (Grand Forks, ND) for $49,249.
Highway Department approvals included authorization to pay Snow-Wheel Systems, Inc. invoices through Auditor Warrants; purchase of three Kuhn mowers from Valley Plains Equipment (Crookston, MN) at $17,340 each (total $52,020); acceptance of certificates of performance and final acceptance for several SAP projects with authorization for signatures; approval to purchase a low-hour 2024 6R 145 tractor and loader for $195,000; and authorization to fill a Highway Maintenance II vacancy.
The board also approved a safety consulting agreement with Safety Compliance Services, LLC and renewed the Agliti Supplemental Biomedical Services agreement for Public Health (agreement name appears as spelled in the minutes). All motions were seconded and passed unanimously.
These approvals authorize staff to execute contracts and proceed with purchases; the minutes do not record any dissent or additional fiscal contingencies beyond the amounts listed.
