The Garrard County Board of Education formally charged its superintendent-search screening committee during its March meeting, instructing committee members to follow confidentiality and open-meetings training, to read and review all candidate materials thoroughly, and to complete their electronic reviews by Monday, April 13, 2026.
The presiding officer told committee members they may use hard-copy notes but must submit their final evaluations electronically via a provided link so board members can review consolidated feedback. Committee members were reminded the role is screening applicants and providing guidance to the board, not selecting the next superintendent.
Board guidance included a request that committee members treat each application consistently, avoid sharing committee deliberations outside the committee, and provide notes in a final section that will be shared with the full board. The board thanked volunteers who agreed to serve on the committee and reiterated confidentiality requirements related to application materials.
