Superintendent Dr. Woodruff said the Jamestown Area Foundation is fully funding the library renovation, which will convert the space into a larger flexible meeting area, a maker corner and two small group rooms. "The generosity of the foundation is just remarkable and we're so grateful for the investment that they continue to make for our students," Dr. Woodruff said.
The board also approved a Green County ESC contract for fiscal year 2026–27 covering alternative programs, preschool services and contracted mental‑health services and accepted multiple donations: $12,000 from the Jamestown Area Foundation for the junior/senior field trip and contributions totaling $2,003.18 from New Life Worship Center of Jamestown, Inc. for lunch charges across district schools. The treasurer advised the board that the county auditor had corrected previously distributed tax‑rate calculations; the board reapproved the revised amounts with no substantive change.
On technology, the board approved a multi‑year internet services contract with LeVeck (effective July 1, 2026–June 30, 2031) tied to E‑rate Category 1 funding, which the superintendent said provides a significant federal discount for district IT services. "They provide exceptional experience," Dr. Woodruff said of the vendor partnership.
The meeting also included routine approvals of minutes, February financial reports and month‑end advances, and the board approved a slate of personnel actions including hiring James Putnam as food‑service supervisor (contingent on certification and background checks) and several substitutes and status changes.
Board members made several remarks about district programming: Dr. Woodruff reported districtwide professional learning (including AI training), a successful high‑school career fair with 14 local employers, and that Greeneview Elementary received the Governor's Science of Reading Champion School Award. Facilities updates included planned spring‑break replacement of corroded heating coils at the high school, ongoing assessment of the elementary roof with Maze Consulting for next steps, and near‑completion of baseball dugout repairs.
The approvals on new business and personnel were passed by unanimous voice or roll‑call votes as recorded in the meeting minutes. The board moved on to extended public comment after these items.
