School nurses: 11,775 nurse visits with 93.5% return-to-class rate; behavioral-health needs rising

The presentation showed the district tracks daily medication administration as a percentage of nurse visits (ranging from about 17% to 35% by campus) and that mental‑health and chronic-condition counts have risen compared with last year.
Nurse Jackie described partnerships and screenings: the district hosted vision screenings (with Kids Vision for Life screening nearly 250 students in a short period), hearing screens, Compass Dental visits that increased participation over last year, immunization and flu clinics, and school-readiness clinics for staff and families. She also outlined staff training on asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes, seizure response and CPR/AED use.
Board members acknowledged the volume of work by the nursing team and noted the increase in behavioral-health conditions; no vote resulted from the presentation.
