Administration explained the work will be performed by LCS, the contractor already on site, to speed the schedule and reduce contract handoffs. Construction staff reported that foundation and footings are roughly 50% complete and that demolition and removal of fiber cement panels occurred earlier in the project. To ensure accessibility for graduation, the project team said it will install an ADA-compliant ramp with side rails before the ceremony and condense the fenced construction area to recover about 30 parking spaces. A proposed gravel parking area could add roughly 130 additional spots; the plan calls for building the gravel lot to a base specification that would allow future conversion to concrete when funding is available.
Board members raised the timing and completion-date concerns; administrators described the earlier anticipated completion as April but cautioned timelines are 'anticipated' and subject to change. The board approved Change Order Number Two by voice/roll call (recorded as 7–0 in the minutes). Administration said it has requested pricing for permanent paving and will report costs back to the board for future budgeting decisions.
The change-order approval is explicitly intended to address near-term graduation needs while preserving the option to upgrade the gravel lot later if bond capacity or other funding is available.
