He estimated minimal foot traffic — roughly five customers per month at current demand, possibly rising to up to five per week if the business grows.
Staff reviewed the planner memo and recommended conditions for home-occupation FFL operations: no retail sales on site, no gunsmithing, maintain a current FFL license, electronic records for required federal background checks, and hours of operation consistent with other home occupations (7 a.m.–10 p.m.). Commissioners asked about recordkeeping and license requirements; staff confirmed electronic records (tablet/laptop) and the necessity of maintaining a current federal license.
The commission voted to grant the permit subject to the city planner memo and municipal code provisions; the decision is subject to the standard 15-day appeal period. Staff noted they will monitor any complaints and that revocation or modification of the permit could be brought back to the commission if enforcement action is needed.
