Martinsville High hires alumnus Bill Wallace as new principal

Wallace addressed the board and family members who had joined him, thanking the superintendent and the board for the opportunity and saying, "I'm excited to return to Martinsville. MHS played an significant role in providing me with the tools to be successful and I look forward to working with staff members to provide current students with the same opportunities that helped me grow." He also noted his family ties to the district and expressed commitment to working "tirelessly to fulfill that trust" placed in him.
The board will host photos and refreshments after the meeting; board members and the superintendent framed the hire as a move to bring experienced leadership with local roots to Martinsville High School. The hire was announced as part of the personnel report included in the consent agenda.
