Board hears track and stadium renovation update; change orders and Triad Architects bid presented

Superintendent Mr. Chapman told the board the stadium and track resurfacing project has progressed: interior curb and drainage are installed, plates across the track have been removed so spring practice can use the facility, and fences have been taken down to allow full access.

Chapman said contractors have installed tile and drainage and that a meeting is scheduled with DNK Hathaway to review irrigation placement. He described several change-order items the board will be asked to consider, including replacing goalposts and the flagpole, paving the east and west D-zones after the track's first coat of asphalt, and moving the pull vault and long-jump pit to improve spectator sightlines. "Item E is the change order amounts of 61,000 and 37,000 with DK Hathaway," Chapman said.

The superintendent also presented a bid of $30,485 from Triad Architects to serve as criteria architect for the fieldhouse and stadium renovations; the board voted to include Triad on the consent agenda for approval. Chapman said the project remains on schedule despite weather-related delays and that some D-zone work will be deferred until late in the season to protect the high-jump area.

The board asked clarifying questions about sequencing and placement of the irrigation and how fans/spectators would be accommodated during construction. No final action on the detailed change orders was recorded in the public portion of the meeting; the Triad Architects bid was listed on the superintendent's consent agenda for board approval.
