District to migrate to Infinite Campus; staff flag recent vendor breach and limit PII

The presenter referenced recent reporting of an Infinite Campus data incident, saying it had been publicly reported two days earlier and that "there was no evidence that the group said has the information they say they have, but there was evidence of a breach," and urged continued restraint on storing personally identifying information: "some schools have social security numbers and things linked into PowerSchool and we've never done that. It's another reason we will not do that in Infinite Campus."
Staff said they will keep both vendor alert systems running briefly while users learn the new system and then consolidate communications once Infinite Campus is functioning for the district. They also said they will lean on other nearby districts doing similar migrations for practical guidance.
No formal implementation date for full deployment was announced; staff said they will stage premium features after confirming the base SIS performs reliably in the test migration.
Board members asked about training timelines and district data-security practices; staff pointed to an end-of-month training site and ongoing check-ins with the vendor as the path forward.
