Dr. Anthony Woodruff, a visual arts educator at Paducah Middle School, presented student artwork and recognized winners from the All State Art Show during the board’s special recognition portion of the meeting.
"I am Dr. Anthony Woodruff. I am a visual arts educator at Paducah Middle School and I'm having an amazing time and thought I would take the time to share a little bit of what we're doing in the classroom with you," Woodruff said as he introduced student pieces and called students forward to be acknowledged.
Woodruff named students whose work had been submitted and highlighted award winners, asking the board and audience to applaud Chloe Hill, who placed second in drawing, and Lena Huthammer, who won best of show. Woodruff described student engagement in the maker space and digital art projects and encouraged continued district support for arts programming.
Board members and guests joined for photos and public congratulations. The recognition was presented as part of the meeting’s opening agenda and required no board action.
