Board authorizes LED relamping, track resurfacing and roof work tied to bond projects

At the April update Mr. Fleshner told the board and viewers the district will move forward on several facility projects, authorizing immediate relamping and LED conversions in high-use spaces and advancing plans to resurface the high-school track.
Relamping: the board approved a project to relamp and convert fixtures to LED in the library, the lunchroom/commons and the small gym to address wear and improve energy efficiency. Mr. Fleshner said the small gym will be the largest piece of the relamping work.
Track resurfacing: bids and proposals for the high-school track are currently out; the plan described is to peel up the existing surface, relay and repaint the track and convert its color back to black for now.
Bond projects and roofing: Mr. Fleshner said the district will begin bond-funded roofing work at the Appton building this summer while design continues for HVAC and secured-entrance components approved by voters. He said paperwork, bidding and design are underway and the district hopes to complete roofing work in the summer.
Procurement and funding notes: Mr. Fleshner linked these projects to the district's recently approved general obligation bond and said the projects are proceeding through standard bidding and design processes. Specific contract awards, vendor names and dollar amounts were not provided in the update.
