WFRC budget committee reports 'lowest' fraud-risk score in annual state audit questionnaire

At its May 14 meeting the Wasatch Front Regional Council Budget Committee reviewed the agency's fiscal year 2026 fraud risk assessment required by the Utah State Auditor and was told the organization scored in the lowest risk category.
Marian Florence summarized the assessment and noted the supporting scoring sheets were in the committee packet. "We again scored the lowest risk category," Florence said, and added that auditors have commended WFRC for having internal controls both in policy and in practice. She described the committee's oversight role as part of what the auditors considered when assigning the low-risk rating.
A committee member responded, "Good job," acknowledging the work before the committee will submit the assessment to the State Auditor and present it to the full Council in the coming weeks.
No formal action was taken beyond the review; staff stated the documents will be filed with the auditor and included in upcoming Council materials.
