The Wasatch Front Economic Development District strategy committee ratified new member appointments and leadership for 2026 during its March 12 meeting, approving a private-sector co-chair role and confirming the vice-chair position.
During introductions, the chair announced that Mary Katherine Perry would serve as a private-sector co-chair alongside the sitting chair and that Railen Blocker would serve as vice chair. Commissioner-led discussion noted the change brings private-sector perspective to committee leadership and that the appointments were previously approved by the WFRC council and required ratification by this committee.
Shannon Ellsworth moved to approve the appointments; Mike Moore seconded. After members voiced assent, the chair ruled the motion carried. The committee then moved and approved minutes from its December 11, 2025 meeting (motion by Anderson; second by Mike Moore).
The measures were recorded as voice votes with the chair stating the motions carried; no recorded roll-call tallies were presented in the meeting record.
The committee also used the meeting to welcome a large group of new and returning members and staff from cities, counties, state agencies and partner organizations, and to confirm the committee will revisit a postponed America 250 agenda item at the June meeting.
