The Sullivan County School District board approved a package of routine finance, facilities and program items at its meeting, including the April 2026 Treasurer's Report and registers totaling $3,883,879.36. Trustees also authorized a $161,441.17 weatherproofing proposal for high-school roof areas 4–6 to be paid from capital project funds and approved a $15,500 contract for sewer plant operations renovations.
The board accepted multiple donations to support extracurricular programs (amounts ranging from $250 to $2,500) and approved facility use by the Sullivan County Basketball Club for gymnasiums Monday–Thursday, May 2026–April 2027 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. During discussion of donated javelins and a long-jump pit, volunteer coach Joe Falcon spoke to safety procedures and oversight.
Other approvals included an E-rate service agreement through BLAST IU for RWAN (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029), designation of White Lewis Lumber Company Inc. as sole-source biomass fuel provider for 2026–2027, acceptance of the independent audit for FY 2024–25 by Baker Tilly, and an agreement with CSIU for e-service fund accounting, HR and payroll services for 2026–27. In all cases motions were moved, seconded and carried by recorded voice or roll-call votes as noted on the agenda.
The board also referred a chemistry and physics curriculum resource adoption back to committee for further review rather than approving replacement materials tonight. The meeting concluded with board reports and an adjournment.
