Council approves moving Food Truck Fridays to City Park; staff to fine-tune timing and logistics

"The location proposed is the swimming pool parking lot and Simmons Auditorium area," said event staff; council asked staff to confirm any distance restrictions from restaurants and to check for conflicts with downtown businesses.
Council members suggested allowing Thursday evening events when the community band plays, and asked staff to evaluate traffic flow, parking and permit issues. Staff said either the City Park lot or the Simmons Auditorium parking could be used and that they would work with vendors and the design committee to finalize logistics.
A motion to approve the proposed City Park location (with staff to work out details, including possible Thursday evenings and proximity rules) was moved, seconded and approved.
