Commission endorses eight corporate-plan goals for the next five years

The Middleton Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission recommended approval of eight overarching goals to guide the department’s corporate (court) plan for the next five years.
Staff summarized the goals as framework items under which the department will develop approximately five objectives each; the goals include ensuring equitable access to parks and recreation and other priorities such as placemaking and arts in parks. Commissioner Michelle said the goals “say what they need to say with enough words, but not too many words,” expressing support for the draft list.
A motion to recommend and approve the goals passed by voice vote. Staff will continue coordinating with the planning department and other stakeholders to convert goals into specific objectives and strategic actions for the court plan.
