Willis ISD board names Tiffany Matthews principal of Willis High School

The Willis ISD Board of Trustees voted May 13 to accept the superintendent’s recommendation to name Tiffany Matthews principal of Willis High School.
The motion to appoint Matthews was made by Mr. Williams and seconded by Miss Trailer; the board approved the appointment unanimously. Trustees and the superintendent welcomed Matthews and outlined her prior leadership in area campuses and previous service in Willis ISD. Following closed session earlier in the meeting, the board also approved the personnel roster as presented.
Mr. Williams addressed Matthews and asked her to stand while the board welcomed her to the district. The superintendent and other trustees praised Matthews’s instructional leadership and regional experience and said the district looks forward to her transition into the role.
The board’s actions on personnel and the principal appointment were taken after closed session and are reflected in the meeting minutes.
