Brooke County Schools board approves consent agenda, facility use and personnel items

At its regular session the Brooke County Schools board approved a consent agenda that included program permissions, outreach requests presented by Jason Williams, director of athletics, and multiple child-record and literacy items. The consent votes were carried unanimously with no recorded dissent.
Staff reported a correction to an assessment-technology purchase amount; the motion was recorded in the minutes with the corrected figure changing from $91,531.20 to $91,894.29 and the corrected motion carried unanimously. The superintendent’s recommendations for facility use were also approved, and a travel-permission item for fourth-grade students was corrected from "Mills" to "Franklin" before approval.
The board read several personnel items into the record and voted to approve them. The items read included Joan Garner (posting P1 1798, interventionist teacher, Wellsburg Primary), Kelly Orvath (posting P1800, interventionist teacher, Wellsburg Primary), Kirsten Misella (leave), Vicky Hunter (transportation FMLA), Scottumar (FMLA request, Brooke High School), Rebecca N. Mitchell (FMLA request, Brooke High School), Alicia Lisa Meyers (secretary, Herson Heights Primary School), and Rana Miller (intermittent FMLA, Wellsburg Primary). A motion to approve all personnel items was made and carried unanimously.
Board members also approved superintendent recommendations for budget supplements and transfers and authorized payment of current bills; those motions were carried unanimously.
